Katie Moon is a senior at Drake University studying Digital Media Production.  She will be graduating in December 2019. (19)

Early Life

Katie was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on October 13, 1996. In early 1997, she and her parents moved to Toledo, Ohio, where here sister was born in 1999. That year, the four of them moved to Bloomingdale, Illinois. In 2003, they relocated back home to West Des Moines, Iowa.

For kindergarten through third grade, Katie went to Westridge Elementary School. Starting in fourth grade, she went to Iowa Christian Academy, where she graduated in 2015.

Katie Moon was born and raised a Chicago Cubs fan. She was named after the girl in the verses of Take Me Out to the Ball Game. Her passion for the Cubs came from her father and never left her.

Though she was initially an education major, Katie found her passion for creative online content when she started watching YouTube. Her favorite channels are Sugar Pine 7, Philip Defranco, and Shane Dawson.

Katie is not only a student at Drake University, she has bled Drake blue since the day she was born. Her grandfather, Don Moon, was a professor and part of the Educational Media at Drake department for around 30 years. He helped out with filming athletic events, and took Katie’s father, Bryan Moon, to several games while he was growing up. In turn, Bryan took Katie to a lot of athletic events while growing up. She never lost her love for Drake University, and you can frequently see her in the front row at all sorts of athletic events on campus.

Katie has an emotional support dog named Khloe. She is a black and white puggle (pug and beagle mix) that, as Katie has been told several times, looks like a miniature cow. Katie brought Khloe home from the Animal Rescue League of Iowa on November 1, 2017. She is the best dog that a girl can ask for. She is sweet, obedient, not too energetic, but energetic enough that she plays fetch for a few minutes.

Katie is a big fan of Marvel. Spider-Man is her favorite character, with Tom Holland being her celebrity crush. She is impatiently waiting for Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: Far From Home to be released in theaters.

Katie’s high school graduating class size was 19, three of whom were foreign exchange students.

Besides Spider-Man: Homecoming, her favorite movie is The Greatest Showman.

She has a little sister named Samantha.
